A relatively new blend, regular production of the ‘hybrid’ C9 Long Grain in Pakistan started not very long ago. The C9 long grain bears striking similarities with
IRRI-9 long grain, partly because it’s a hybrid seed, however the rice kernels are relatively thinner, as opposed to the wider kernel of IRRI-6 and IRRI-9. C9 is
rapidly gaining popularity in the international rice market while buyers, wholesalers and rice importers are starting to prefer the C9 over its other Non-Basmati
counterparts.
